Nong Mon Market is on Sukhumvit Road and is known for local food, fresh produce and processed seafood. It works better as a focused food or souvenir stop than as something to squeeze between every other activity. Confirm the current hours before travelling, especially on a public holiday.
For one or two nights, there is no need to cross Bangsaen for every meal. Pick one area and leave yourself a backup.
Near the university, look for a cafe or casual restaurant with a recent official update and a menu that fits your group. Nong Mon Market suits travellers who want to browse local products, but it is better planned as its own stop.
